983m Cubic Feet of Gas Injected in Gachsaran Oil Fields Daily

GACHSARAN, Kohkiluyeh-Boyer Ahmad An official in charge of the oil-rich regions in southern Iran here Saturday put the daily amount of gas injection into oil fields in the area at 983 million cubic feet.
Mahmoud Zirakchian told IRNA that the gas is being injected into oil fields in Gachsaran and Bibi-Hakimeh regions.
He said the secondary retrieval of oil through injection of gas in the said field is estimated at 5 billion barrels, adding that in the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 20), over 182 billion cubic feet of gas was injected into oil fields in the region.
Zirakchian who is the head of the General Department for Gas Injection Installations, said that projects are underway for the injection of more gas to the oil field in Gachsaran and Bibi-Hakimeh regions.
He further added that "coopal" project for the injection of gas into oil fields in Khuzestan Province will come on stream with a daily injection rate of 150 million cubic feet.
